Rant

Words can not explain how much I hate text messages, or rather in general, the people who find the need to read their phone everytime it vibrates constantly.

I understand that texting has its usefulness, but there comes to a point when it becomes absolutely ridiculous. I get long messages that I’m expected to reply to, when they could have easily of called me and told me about what was going on.

Whenever I’m hanging out with somebody, talking to someone, meeting someone new, watching a movie with a friend, dining out, or even to the extent of riding a bicycle…It seems that I can always spot someone texting.

Another downside to texting is that every single message is always predicable. I can literally put money on what the other person is going to say, give or take a few lol’s, and abbreivations. I don’t even understand how people manage to keep a text message converation going for an ENTIRE day. A little space please?

I’m not even going to mention the chain messages that I get, I.e. “…txt this bak to 10 ppl or u mite go2 hell”. The possibilities are endless. For every person with a text messaging plan, there’s an equally amount of stupid people in the world. I get these messages from friends who are in their 20s, so its not just the teenagers that do it nowadays. It’s practically an epidemic spreading to older generations. Same problem applies for emails - never give your email out to a girl - all you get in return is chainletter after chainletter with pictures of puppies and kittens.

Another thing that bothers me is the people who have those ear-phones, or whatever they’re called. It’s when they have the phone connected to their ear, and they’ll randomly start talking - and you never know if they’re talking to you.

For instance, they’ll say “hey, how are you?” really loud, you turn back to see if they’re talking to you, and then they glare at you like you’re an idiot.

Ipods, mp3 players, etc - those bug me too. If you’re going to talk to me, and listen to music at the same time - I don’t really want to talk to you. It’s so disrespectful, and who am I to say that? I’m 18, it makes me feel like an old geezer to be telling people that “it’s disrespectful”

Ah, well there’s my rant of the day

The lesson of the day: Don’t text message around Scott
